A good program should also let you rip discs to a variety of file formats, such as MP4s, AVIs, WMVs, and MOVs, and even more compact formats designed for mobile devices. That latter option means you'll be able to rip files stored in those VIDEO_TS folders you often find on DVDs. Ideally, you want a program that can rip digital files from any source accessible from a DVD, including the disc itself, an ISO image, or folders of DVD files. It’ll probably have your drive selected already, so you can just open it right from there. You can also use the “Detected DVD devices” drop-down at the bottom of the window. Click on it and select “VIDEO_TS” to open. First, if you already have your DVD in the drive, it should appear with the DVD’s title on the left of the window.
